Sharon and Joel Larmore

Sharon and Joel Larmore are longstanding philanthropists, giving back to the CU Anschutz Medical Campus as well as organizations throughout their community. After graduating from the CU Physical Therapy Program, Joel founded RehabVisions. Based in Omaha, Nebraska, the company staffs and manages physical, occupational and speech therapy departments in more than 50 small and rural communities in 11 states.

Reflecting on his career, Joel sees CU as the linchpin of his success. His gratitude led him to join the CU Physical Therapy Program Scholarship and Endowment Advisory Board. “Reexplore your connection with the curriculum and the impact it has had on your own career. Once you do that, it is easy to give back,” he said. Sharon and Joel created the Larmore Family Endowed Scholarship to encourage physical therapy students to pursue careers in rural communities – a passion they share and seek to address through their generosity.

Sharon and Joel are dedicated to their family, which includes three children and seven grandchildren. Every Christmas, they charge their grandchildren with deciding where to give back. Each grandchild chooses a nonprofit, and the family gives to children’s hospitals, animal shelters, food banks and other nonprofit organizations. Joel joined the CU Foundation Board of Trustees where he will continue to encourage philanthropy to CU. “I am honored to serve in this new capacity and give back to the institution that helped create my career and life’s opportunities,” said Joel.
