Marc Allen Sisk, DDS, Memorial Scholarship

Brilliant. Adventurous. Dedicated. Caring. These are just some of the adjectives friends and family use to describe Marc Sisk, DDS. The 1995 CU School of Dental Medicine alumnus was a lifelong learner who built his dream periodontal practice in Reno, Nevada, after serving nearly a decade in the Air Force.

When Sisk passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2009, at the age of 39, his classmates Jamie Johnson and Lisa Carlson Marks joined with Marc’s parents and family to establish the Marc Allen Sisk, DDS, Memorial Scholarship Fund in his memory.

“Each year, I know Marc’s legacy of excellence in clinical dentistry, along with his amazing sense of humor and kindness, live on through this fund,” Johnson said.

Since its establishment, Marc’s classmates and family banded together to make a positive difference for generations of dental students. Marc’s father, Frank, said, “The future is ahead of you. You get the chance to help people in need when you support scholarships.”

Eight future dentists have benefited from the Sisk Memorial Scholarship over the past nine years, and many more recipients will ensure that Marc’s legacy lives on for decades to come.
