Evelyn Lutz

With more than 55 years’ experience in nursing practice and higher education leadership, Evelyn Lutz, PhD, MS, RN, has demonstrated profound dedication to her life’s work, and a steadfast commitment to advancing the careers of aspiring nurses. Through her philanthropy, the 1965 University of Colorado College of Nursing alumna has become an essential component of the college’s legacy and bright future.

It was Loretta Ford, EdD, PNP, FAAN, one of Dr. Lutz’s professors, who inspired her to support nursing students later in her life. Impressed with the trajectory of Ford’s career – including helping establish the first pediatric nursing practitioner role at CU and serving as dean of nursing at the University of Rochester – Dr. Lutz honors this work, giving to nursing fellowships through the Loretta Ford Fellowship Fund.
Dr. Lutz’s generous contributions to the CU College of Nursing are helping to prepare future nursing leaders to deliver the best care at patient bedsides and make a positive impact in their communities.

“I’m proud to have the opportunity to participate in small ways to assist the growth of the nursing profession, and provide resources for generations of nursing students at CU.” – Evelyn Lutz, PhD, MS, RN
